Hyundai Alcazar 2021 : A Handful Of Reasons To Buy

The Alcazar is a Spanish word (derived from the Arabic word Al-Qaṣr) which means a fortress. The all new Hyundai Alcazar was launched in June, 2021. It is basically an extension to the Hyundai Creta. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

There are three rows in Hyundai Alcazar due to which it is believed that it will attract a lot of customers. This became true when Hyundai seized 4000 bookings in the first week itself. The engine specs are almost similar to Hyundai Creta but still there are differences that matters.

The wheelbase has been increased to accommodate 6 or 7 persons comfortably in three rows. It is best suited for families with more than 4 or 5 members. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Engine and Performance

The Hyundai Alcazar is available in both petrol and diesel variants. The engine in the diesel variant belongs to the Hyundai U family. For example, one of the diesel variants that we tested has a 1.5 L (1,493 cc) engine having 4 cylinders with 4 valves in each cylinder.

The diesel engine of Alcazar is also used in Hyundai Creta. But the engines in the petrol variant are totally different from the Hyundai Creta. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

The petrol engines are basically 3rd gen Nu engines, the same used in Hyundai Elantra and Hyundai Tucson. The Petrol engines in Alcazar are borrowed from Hyundai Tucson and upgraded to provide more power and better stability.

Interiors/Exteriors in Hyundai Alcazar

The interiors and overall styling of Alcazar is carefully designed to cover up its similarities from Creta. The new grille, increased height and stylish alloys make it a complete and unique SUV.

From the inside, the Alcazar is identical to the Creta except the number of seats (or rows). Only thing where Alcazar could have improved are the headlamps and its detail. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Hyundai Alcazar has a boot space of 180 liters which is more than sufficient. A plus point here is that second and third row can be folded which provides much more room. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Suspension and Chassis

The wheelbase of Hyundai Alcazar is 2760mm which is 150mm more than that of Hyundai Creta. Consequently, the length also increases by almost 200mm. The suspension used is McPherson Struts in the front with a torsion beam at the rear which are also upgraded to uniformly distribute the load. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

Apart from this, the quality of ride is good and comfortable. In automatic transmission variants, one can select drive mode by which the steering effort can be altered. This feature is not there in manual variants.

If someone has to choose between Creta and Alcazar, one should undoubtedly choose Hyundai Alcazar because it is more stable and a complete SUV, with new and updated features, more boot space and provides better ride quality. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

However, Hyundai should have provided the front and side airbags in all the variants which is currently present in only the top variants.
